Talkin' Leafs and Team Canada 4 Nations Picks with Damien Cox
We are just past U.S. Thanksgiving, which is the unofficial harbinger for NHL teams hopes of making the playoffs!
In this episode we kickoff the show talking a bit about the start of the PWHL season, highlighting the Toronto Sceptres' first win and the excitement surrounding the league’s sophomore season. Then in the Good, the Bad and the Ugly, we highlight a couple of stellar performances in the midst of a sparse schedule. In addition the Refs make their season debut in the Bad category, and we also express our continued concern over the overflowing Leafs infirmary.
Next, for our Third Period segment, we welcome back to the show journalist Damien Cox to share his insights on the Leafs' current season, coaching changes, and the need for depth scoring and chemistry to set the team up for success in the playoffs. Then, with the up and coming unveiling of the Four Nations Face-off rosters and the excitement around it, we get Damien's insights on best-on best international tournaments past and present, and discuss the potential picks for Team Canada and the challenges and expectations surrounding the choices for goaltenders.
To wrap up the show we take a look at what's coming up for the Buds, as the schedule picks up now that we are into December. We hope they got lots of rest in the previous few weeks, because the games will be coming fast and furious now heading all the way to the Christmas break. Go Leafs Go!
